Dear colleagues,

As the responsible for the ERTICO proposal development process, I would like to thank all of you for the very fruitful ERTICO partnership workshop on 23-24 June 2016. 63 participants from 41 ERTICO partners were present to identify how ERTICO partnership should address the 21 currently identified calls in the H2020 2017 Work Programme.

The ERTICO research sector was of course well represented but also other sectors took active part to the discussions and the networking. Partners inputs were very valuable at this stage of the process in order to transform calls opportunities into concrete project proposal initiatives supported by the ERTICO partnership.

As an introduction, the ERTICO office gave an overview of the status of the current proposal (ERTICO Project Proposal Status 2016-2017). and the ERTICO Partnership proposal development process was presented.

Until end of September 2016, the Programme Leaders will work with the ERTICO partners who have shown interest for the respective calls. The goal at this stage is to create sound and balanced Core Groups and develop the proposal concepts including objectives, partners and overall budget.

By end of November 2016, the respective proposal Core Groups will be in charge of selecting additional partners where expertise gaps are identified. If competing proposals are announced, the core group will decide if merging is necessary in order to avoid unnecessary competition. If not done yet, they will agree on the proposal coordinator.

The rest of the workshop was structured in four different sessions covering the four ERTICO programmes:

  • ITS for Urban Mobility,
  • Connected and Automated Driving,
  • ITS and Freight Transport and Logistics,
  • eMobility.

Each session was convened by the respective ERTICO programme leader. Transversal support actions such as the Big Data For Transport, Physical Internet, and Port of the Future were also discussed.
