ERTICO has been involved in the AIOTI for the past 12 months. Our primary activity concerns WG9 on smart mobility (Chair: Marko Häckel, Robert Bosch AG). Stemming from WG9 work, ERTICO has been gradually more active in the WG3 on IoT Standardisation and WG4 on Policy issues.
Within WG4 policy issues, a set of papers has been prepared during the summer with the overall objective to compile an “AIOTI digitisation of industry policy” document. The papers are focused on the following areas (main authors in brackets):
- Trusted IoT label (ARM, Symantec, IBM, NXP)
- Numbering (RIPE, Orange, Vodafone)
- Data ownership (IBM, Arthurs Legal, Symantec, Vodafone, Hogan Lovells, Vodafone)
- Removing barriers to cross border data flow within the EU (IBM, Cisco, Arthurs Legal, Symantec, Vodafone, Hogan Lovells)
- Liability (Hogan Lovells, Arthur’s Legal)
- Connectivity (ARM, Arthur’s Legal, Vodafone)
Related to areas 3 and 4, please find attached the current draft paper related to “Free Flow Of Data and Data Ownership”. You may recognise that most of the paper is also valid for the purpose of connected vehicles, traffic services and road infrastructures, which is the reason I share it with you.
The document is open for comments until the 31 of August. I would like to gather from the ERTICO partners any comments you may want to express, especially in view of the deployment of ITS (connected vehicles, traffic services and road infrastructures). Please send your comments in tracked changes to Maxime Flament m.flament@mail.ertico.com before 31 August.
Do not hesitate to contact us for any further information.
Best regards,
