ERTICO’s new project under the Connected, Cooperative & Automated Mobility (CCAM) focus area, PoDIUM, is kicking off on 20-21 October in Athens. The whole consortium as well as the Project Officer from the European Commission will gather to discuss the project’s first steps.
PoDIUM aims to identify and assess the connectivity and cooperation enablers and needs to reach higher levels of automation. This will be achieved through the demonstration in real-life conditions of defined CCAM use cases in 3 Living Labs in Germany, Italy, and Spain, in urban, highway, and cross-border environments. Using a multi-connectivity approach and an interoperable and hybrid data management environment will contribute to accelerating important technologies in Physical and Digital Infrastructure (PDI) and creating new business ventures. The project will result in the PoDIUM reference architecture, a flexible model that can be applied in various road environments and infrastructure equipment.
