HaminaKotka Living Lab (LL) is one of the five LLs (together with Antwerp, Livorno, Piraeus and Valencia) in the European project COREALIS, which proposes a strategic, innovative framework, for cargo ports to handle their upcoming and future capacity, traffic, efficiency and environmental challenges. This framework is supported by disruptive technologies, including Internet of Things (IoT), data analytics, next generation traffic management and emerging 5G networks, that aiming at increasing efficiency, optimising land-use, being financially viable, respecting circular economy principles and being of service to the urban environment.
The demonstration aims to showcase the actual operation of the HaminaKotka Living Lab developed innovations (Truck Appointment System: a reservation system, including real time traffic data, PORTMOD: a visualisation and simulation tool for Container Terminal operations and Port of the future Serious Game: an innovative and interactive training and simulation game for port-city developments).
