As one of the world's leading mobility events, the global transport community is now preparing for the ITS World Congress 2026 in Gangneung, South Korea, from 19–23 October 2026.
This year's Congress will once again convene policymakers, public authorities, industry leaders, researchers and technology providers from across the world to exchange ideas, build partnerships and advance cooperation across the mobility ecosystem. For European organisations, it offers a valuable opportunity to showcase innovative technologies, services, research and deployment successes while strengthening connections with global markets and stakeholders.
Building momentum towards Birmingham 2027
Following the success of the UK–ERTICO European Pavilion at the ITS World Congress in Atlanta last year, ERTICO is pleased to invite its Partners, ITS Nationals and their members, alongside organisations from across the European mobility ecosystem, to join the Pavilion in Gangneung and showcase European innovation on the global stage.
Developed in collaboration with Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), host of the next EMEA World Congress Birmingham 2027, the Pavilion will serve as a focal point for European innovation, collaboration and business development. It will provide organisations of all sizes with a platform to present solutions, services, research activities and deployment achievements to an influential global audience.
Visitors are invited to meet the organiser team to discuss exhibition and commercial partnership opportunities, as well as opportunities to contribute to the Congress programme. The Call for Contributions and Call for Demonstrations for Birmingham 2027 are expected to open at the end of October 2026.
ERTICO CEO, Joost Vantomme, expressed his enthusiasm for co-creating this European Hub of innovation:
“Alongside our active contribution to the ITS World Congress 2026 programme, we are delighted to once again join forces with Transport for West Midlands through the UK–ERTICO European Pavilion. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to strengthening international cooperation and creating opportunities for European organisations to showcase their innovations to a global audience. I look forward to bringing ERTICO’s activities, our Partnership community and European mobility innovation to the forefront in Gangneung.”
Showcasing European Innovation at Global Scale
As intelligent transport systems continue to evolve, international collaboration remains essential to transforming innovation into deployment and delivering tangible benefits for people, cities and businesses. We invite you to meet the ERTICO team on-site to learn more about our activities, Innovation Platforms, EU-funded projects and Partnership opportunities to further strengthen collaboration across sectors while supporting the deployment of intelligent, connected and sustainable mobility solutions.
Participants at the joint Pavilion in Gangneung will not only benefit from increased visibility and a myriad of networking opportunities, but also direct engagement with potential partners, customers, investors, policymakers and transport authorities from around the world.
A limited number of exhibition opportunities remain available within the Pavilion, offering participating organisations visibility on-site and across promotional activities, opportunities for media engagement, and the possibility to present innovations directly to Congress attendees.
Organisations interested in participating in the Pavilion are invited to contact Johanna Stapelberg, Corporate Communications Manager at ERTICO – ITS Europe.
Nominations Open for the 2026 ITS Hall of Fame Awards
ERTICO is also pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2026 ITS Hall of Fame Awards.
Since 2010, the ITS Hall of Fame has recognised individuals, organisations and public authorities whose contributions have advanced intelligent, safe, efficient, sustainable and resilient mobility systems. The 2026 award recipients will be announced during the ITS World Congress in Gangneung.
We encourage the ITS community to submit nominations and help celebrate the people and organisations driving innovation and deployment across the mobility sector.
