CIVITAS Forum 2026

From 15 to 17 September 2026, ERTICO will join policymakers, city representatives, industry leaders, researchers and mobility experts in Thessaloniki, Greece, for the CIVITAS Forum 2026, Europe's leading conference on sustainable urban mobility.

Under the theme "Roots & Routes: Moving Forward to Competitive, Connected and Resilient Urban Mobility!", this year's Forum will explore how cities can accelerate the transition towards smarter, safer and more sustainable transport systems.

Discussions will focus on three key priorities: competitive, connected and resilient urban mobility, addressing topics ranging from public transport innovation and mobility data to Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM), Artificial Intelligence, climate resilience and inclusive mobility.

As a long-standing contributor to Europe's intelligent transport ecosystem, ERTICO looks forward to engaging with the CIVITAS community, exchanging knowledge with mobility stakeholders and contributing to discussions that will help shape the future of urban mobility.

FEDORA

FEDORA will contribute to the CIVITAS Clusters Project Coordinators’ Meeting on Monday, 14 September at 16:30, followed by the Project Coordinators’ Breakfast on Tuesday, 15 September from 09:30 to 10:30.

Throughout the Forum, FEDORA will also be featured in the Thematic Corner: Active Mobility, Behaviour Change & City Transition. The project will have dedicated exhibition slots on 15 September from 14:45 to 15:00, during the short break, and on 16 September from 15:45 to 16:15, during the afternoon networking break.

CORESpaces

CORESpaces will showcase its work towards more inclusive, liveable and climate neutral urban spaces.

On 17 September, CORESpaces will join sister projects Urban-Flow and NEXTLOGIC for the interactive workshop “Co-designing climate-neutral & liveable urban spaces: addressing urban redesign challenges”. This session will invite participants to explore real-world urban redesign scenarios through a hands-on co-creation exercise. 

CORESpaces will also be featured in the “Inclusive Streets & Urban Public Space” thematic corner of the exhibition area, with dedicated presentation slots throughout the Forum. These will offer participants the opportunity to meet project representatives and learn more about CORESpaces’ activities.

SMARTIN

Representatives of SMARTIN will also join the CIVITAS community in Thessaloniki. Following the SMARTIN Consortium Meeting taking place on 14 and 15 September, project partners will remain in the city to connect with fellow mobility stakeholders, exchange knowledge and build relationships with other projects working towards smarter and more sustainable urban mobility.

periASTY

periASTYwill showcase its work on integrating peri-urban areas in the transition towards climate-neutrality in Europe.

The project will be represented in the “Integrated Peri-Urban & Rural-Urban Mobility” thematic corner in the exhibition area, together with sister projects. Dedicated presentations will take place during breaks and lunch times throughout the Forum, offering participants the opportunity to discover more about periASTY and its contribution to more integrated and sustainable mobility between urban, peri urban and rural areas.

metaCCAZE

Representatives of the metaCCAZE project will present the project on various occasions during the Forum. The project will be featured in various sessions of the conference programme. On 16 September, project representatives will contribute to:

• 11:15–12:15 - Session 3, Part I: “Inclusive & Accessible Public Transport for All” with Anne Patrício (MaaSLab): Discover how innovative mobility solutions can help create transport systems that are more inclusive and accessible for everyone.
• 15:45–17:00 - “Urban Freight Data Connectivity and System Operations: From Data Sharing to Measurable Outcomes” with Annika Paul (City of Munich): Learn how data-driven urban freight solutions can improve city logistics and support more efficient, sustainable transport operations.
• 16:15–17:30 - “The Thessaloniki Challenge: Thessaloniki vs Europe on the road to climate-neutral mobility” with Breogan Sanchez (Bable Smart Cities): Learn how implementation steps and pitfalls from a mid-sized European city are working under real constraints, a like-for-like comparison with a differently organised city on each theme, and concrete transferable measures on street reallocation, climate governance and mobility data.

On 17 September, metaCCAZE will also contribute to:

• 11:30–12:45 - “Powering the Transition: Deploying Investable Energy-Mobility Roadmaps for Cities” with Eleni Kalantzi (MaaSLab).

InclusiveSpaces

Project partners from InclusiveSpaces will also contribute to the Forum programme, bringing a strong focus on accessibility, active mobility and inclusive urban public spaces.

On 16 September from 11:15 to 12:15, the City of Hamburg will contribute to the session “Active Mobility for Liveable, Healthy Cities: How Cities Make It Happen, Part I”, while the project coordinator, cambiaMO, will speak in “Inclusive and Accessible Public Transport for All, Part I”.
