More than 500 participants are expected to take part in the 9th edition of the Road Transport Research (RTR) Conference in 2026, a meeting point for the road transport research and innovation community. The conference offers a unique opportunity to explore how EU-funded and Horizon Europe projects are shaping the future of mobility across Europe.
A Gateway to EU-Funded Research Results
Over three days, participants will gain a comprehensive overview of the latest project results, their expected impacts, and the next research steps in critical areas for road transport. These include Green Vehicles, Urban Mobility, Logistics, Intelligent Transport Systems, Road Safety, Automated Road Transport, and Batteries.
The scale of the 2026 edition reflects the strength and diversity of Europe’s research landscape. The programme will feature 32 sessions covering 97 projects across 10 thematic areas, enabling in-depth exchanges between researchers, industry, public authorities, and policy-makers. This structure supports meaningful dialogue and knowledge sharing, while highlighting concrete outcomes and future opportunities for collaboration.
ERTICO’s Contribution to European Research and Innovation
The ERTICO team, alongside project consortium members, will be present throughout the conference, supporting and presenting its contribution across a wide range of European-funded projects, including EvoRoads, FAME, SINFONICA, FRODDO, CulturalRoad, SUM, SUNRISE, SYNERGIES, V4SAFETY, ZEV-UP, PoDIUM, LeMesurier, among others. This participation underlines ERTICO’s role in fostering cross-sector collaboration, and supporting the deployment of innovative, safe, and sustainable mobility solutions.
