In this edition of ‘Partner in the Spotlight’, we’re proud to feature Miovision, a global pioneer in intelligent mobility celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2025. Since its founding, Miovision has been transforming the way cities manage traffic - moving from reactive systems to proactive, AI-powered networks designed to anticipate and prevent congestion and incidents before they happen.
With a strong focus on data-driven urban planning, safety, and sustainability, Miovision empowers cities with real-time insights and innovative solutions that support greener and more equitable mobility. As one of the newest members of the ERTICO Partnership, Miovision brings a fresh perspective to the network - leveraging its expertise in computer vision, edge AI, and digital infrastructure to contribute to Europe’s digital and green transition.
ERTICO colleagues had the pleasure of meeting the Miovision team in person during the ITS World Congress in Atlanta on 25 August 2025 - a great opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and further strengthen this new collaboration.
In this interview, we hear from Eric Jacques, Senior Director of International Business Development, as he shares how Miovision is helping cities across Europe embrace predictive traffic management, the role of the ERTICO Partnership in scaling innovation, and how collaboration is key to shaping the future of intelligent transport.
Can you briefly introduce your organisation and share its core mission within the mobility and transport sector?
Miovision, celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2025, is a global leader in intelligent mobility, transforming how cities manage traffic through real-time data, AI-powered insights, and connected technology. Our mission is to help cities evolve from outdated, reactive traffic systems to intelligent, proactive networks that anticipate traffic incidents, before they happen.
How long has your organisation been part of the ERTICO Partnership, and what motivated you to join? What have been the key benefits or outcomes of your involvement so far?
We joined the ERTICO Partnership in 2025 to connect with like-minded innovators who are shaping the future of mobility in Europe and beyond. For us, ERTICO offers more than networking. We see it as a platform for influence, collaboration, and co-creation.
“Through ERTICO, we’ve gained early insight into policy trends, shaped the ITS dialogue across Europe, and connected with cities embracing AI-driven mobility solutions.” - Eric Jacques, Senior Director of International Business Development at Miovision.
In your view, what sets the ERTICO Partnership apart in the field of intelligent transport systems and mobility innovation?
ERTICO closes the gap between vision and execution by bringing together the full mobility ecosystem - public, private, and academic - around practical, scalable solutions. It doesn’t just imagine the future of mobility, it moves it forward by translating policy, research, and innovation into real-world impact.
If you had to sum up the ERTICO Partnership in just one word or sentence, what would it be - and what makes it stand out for you?
Catalyst for intelligent mobility.
How is Miovision supporting cities in their transition from reactive traffic management to predictive, AI-powered mobility operations?
Cities must evolve from simply managing yesterday’s traffic to proactively shaping the future of mobility. Miovision enables this transformation through advanced computer vision, edge AI, and cloud platforms that empower cities to respond in real time. We anticipate what’s coming next.
For example, Miovision’s newly launched Continuous Safety Monitoring provides cities dedicated to safer streets with actionable data to proactively identify and address potential conflicts among all road users, across their network before crashes occur.
As cities seek to reduce emissions and promote active transport, how does Miovision's solution suite help urban planners make data-informed, sustainable mobility decisions?
Reducing transport emissions takes more than rules, it needs accurate data. Miovision gives cities detailed information about how people travel, helping planners find traffic problems, check what’s working, and build better roads for bikes, walking, and transit.
By showing how streets are used by cars, cyclists, pedestrians, and buses, we help cities share space more fairly, improve intersections, and create greener, more sustainable mobility.
How does being part of the ERTICO Partnership support Miovision’s mission to expand its intelligent mobility solutions across Europe?
ERTICO serves as a powerful launchpad for scaling innovation. By engaging in pilots, EU-funded initiatives, and strategic partnerships, we tailor our technology to local needs, prove its impact, and help drive the digital and green transformation of Europe’s mobility networks.
Being part of the ERTICO ecosystem ensures that our voice and our vision play an active role in shaping the future of intelligent mobility across Europe.
