As the global transport community gathers for the International Transport Forum (ITF) 2026 Summit in Leipzig (6-8 May), ERTICO – ITS Europe will take a leading role in shaping the dialogue on infrastructure longevity. Under the theme "Funding Resilient Transport," this year’s Summit, presided over by Azerbaijan, focuses on the strategic investments required to build mobility systems capable of anticipating and absorbing global shocks.
On Thursday, 7 May (09:00 – 10:30), ERTICO CEO Joost Vantomme will join a high-level panel for "Session 4: Future-Ready by Design," alongside Katrin Seeger, Head of Strategy at Siemens, Jens Oliver Schünzel, Director/Team Head at KfW IPEX-Bank GmbH, and Rich Pleeth, CEO and Founder at Finmile. The discussion will explore how integrating physical and digital solutions, such as Artificial Intelligence, IoT, and Digital Twins, from the design phase is essential for long-term resilience.
ERTICO’s participation emphasises the critical interdependence between transport, energy, and telecommunications. Through our engagement at the ITF Summit, we continue to bridge the gap between policy and innovation, advocating for funding strategies that prioritise smart technologies as a fundamental component of resilient infrastructure.
