At every ITS European Congress, the ERTICO Partnership comes to life not only through conference discussions and exhibition showcases but also through the people, technologies, and collaborations shaping the future of mobility together. This year, during the ITS European Congress in Istanbul, the traditional ERTICO High-Level Partners Tour once again offered a unique opportunity to connect directly with Partners across the exhibition floor, discover cutting-edge innovations, and strengthen the relationships driving intelligent transport systems forward.
The ERTICO delegation, led by CEO Joost Vantomme, together with Chairman Dr Angelos Amditis, Chief Financial & Operations Officer Didier Gorteman, Chief Innovation Officer Vladimir Vorotovic, Senior Manager for Programme & Knowledge Integration Rita Bhandari, Head of Partnership & Advocacy Agne Vaitekenaite, Senior Officer for Partnership and Governance Emil Berlin and Senior Officer for Marketing and Engagement Joanna Mikolajczyk, visited a wide range of Partner booths throughout the Congress. The tour highlighted how the ERTICO ecosystem continues to evolve into an increasingly interconnected and collaborative network, where innovation is translated into practical solutions addressing real-world mobility challenges.
11 Visits to our Partners in the Exhibition
The tour began at the booth of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye where the delegation explored the country’s vision and large-scale initiatives supporting smart and sustainable mobility. As host country of the ITS European Congress 2026, Türkiye showcased its ambition to accelerate intelligent transport deployment and strengthen connectivity between Europe and Asia through advanced mobility infrastructure and digital transformation.
The delegation then continued to Umovity / PTV Group. where innovative transport planning and traffic management software solutions were presented. The discussions focused on how digital simulation, modelling, and real-time analytics can support more efficient, sustainable, and integrated mobility systems for cities and regions.
At TomTom, visitors explored how AI-powered mobility intelligence is enabling cities to manage transport systems more proactively and efficiently. Through its MCP-powered AI Command Centre, live Traffic Insights, and the latest Traffic Index 2026, TomTom demonstrated how authorities can monitor, analyse, and respond to traffic conditions in real time while improving resilience and sustainability across urban mobility networks.
The tour then moved to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) & ISBAK, where the delegation gained insights into Istanbul’s smart mobility ecosystem and intelligent transport initiatives. The showcase highlighted advanced urban traffic management solutions, digital infrastructure projects, and integrated systems supporting one of the world’s most dynamic and densely populated metropolitan areas.
At Miovision, the delegation explored intelligent traffic data solutions designed to improve urban mobility performance and optimise traffic flow through advanced analytics and connected technologies. The company demonstrated how real-time intersection data and AI-driven insights can support safer, more efficient transport operations.
The delegation also visited Istanbul Okan University, where research-driven innovations in intelligent transport systems and smart mobility applications were presented. The discussions highlighted the important role of academia and research institutions in supporting innovation, experimentation, and knowledge exchange across the ITS ecosystem.
At the T-Systems booth, the focus shifted towards the future of road user charging and interoperable tolling solutions. Through its TRUST platform (T-Systems Road User Services Tolling platform), the company presented how cloud technologies, AI, and data-driven platforms are supporting the evolution towards scalable GNSS-based tolling and connected transport ecosystems across Europe.
The delegation then continued to Google Maps, where visitors explored the evolution of the Geo for Cities suite, combining Google Maps, Waze, and Google Earth to help public authorities transform geospatial data into actionable mobility and sustainability strategies. Demonstrations showcased how cities can better understand traffic flows, improve road safety, and support urban planning through real-time insights and advanced mapping capabilities.
At Yunex Traffic, the delegation discovered advanced intelligent traffic management technologies designed to improve infrastructure efficiency and road safety. The demonstrations illustrated how connected systems and adaptive traffic control solutions can contribute to more resilient and future-ready urban mobility networks.
The tour then moved to SWARCO, where visitors experienced a comprehensive showcase of integrated mobility solutions already deployed around the world. From AI-enabled traffic control systems and predictive traffic management to the immersive Extended Reality experience, SWARCO demonstrated how roadside infrastructure, central traffic systems, and data-driven services are becoming increasingly interconnected to support smarter and safer transport systems.
At Ford Otosan, the delegation explored the company’s latest developments in connected and automotive mobility solutions, highlighting the growing convergence between automotive innovation, digitalisation, and intelligent transport systems.
The tour concluded at the Transport for West Midlands booth within the UK Pavilion, where innovative approaches to connected, inclusive, and sustainable mobility systems were showcased. Their solutions highlighted how data-driven transport services and user-centred mobility strategies can improve everyday journeys while supporting regional integration and accessibility.
As host of the upcoming ITS World Congress, Transport for West Midlands also used the opportunity to actively promote the event, offering visitors a first glimpse into what Birmingham and the West Midlands region will bring to the global ITS community. The discussions reflected the region’s strong ambition to position itself as a leading hub for transport innovation, collaboration, and future mobility solutions, while inviting stakeholders from across the ecosystem to continue the dialogue at next year’s Congress.
A collective ecosystem of public and private stakeholders
Beyond the technologies and demonstrations, the Partner Tour once again highlighted what makes the ERTICO Partnership unique: the ability to bring together actors from across the mobility value chain in one collaborative ecosystem. From public authorities and cities to technology providers, infrastructure operators, automotive players, researchers, and service providers, the Congress floor reflected the diversity and strength of a network working towards a shared ambition for smarter, safer, and more sustainable mobility.
The conversations throughout the tour demonstrated that the most impactful innovations rarely happen in isolation. They emerge through cooperation, knowledge exchange, and the willingness to jointly address complex mobility challenges across sectors and borders. This collaborative dynamic continues to position the ERTICO Partnership as a catalyst for dialogue, innovation, and deployment in Europe’s intelligent transport landscape.
As mobility ecosystems become increasingly interconnected, the value of being part of a trusted network capable of connecting expertise, perspectives, and opportunities becomes more important than ever. The ITS European Congress in Istanbul once again showed that the ERTICO Partnership is not simply observing the future of mobility; together with its Partners, it is actively shaping it.
Beyond the exhibition floor and the High-Level Partners Tour, ERTICO would also like to thank all Partners who actively contributed across the wider Congress programme through sessions, discussions, ITS Arena, and thought leadership activities. Valuable insights and expertise were shared by organisations including Rijkswaterstaat, Ohmio, ICCS, Flanders’ Department of Mobility & Public Works, and City of Hamburg / New Mobility Solutions Hamburg, among many others. Their active participation throughout the Congress further demonstrated the depth, diversity, and collaborative strength of the ERTICO ecosystem, helping to advance important conversations on the future of intelligent and sustainable mobility.
