1990
EC Agnelli Study on gap between research outputs and commercial exploitation set up the basis for ERTICO.
1991
ERTICO – ITS Europe founded by 15 organisations from 5 business sectors. “Cooperation and Coordination. For better transport in Europe”.
1992
ERTICO starts with 8 staff members and set up Strategic Plan for Advanced Transport Telematics in Europe.
1993
EC White Paper: “Future development of the Common Transport Policy”.
1994
ERTICO co-organises the first ITS World Congress in Paris.
1997
ERTICO publishes 20 Year Vision for market evolution of ITS.
1997
ERTICO co-organises first EU-China ITS Conference in Beijing.
1998
First TMC – Traffic Message Channel services and products; ERTICO launches TMC Forum.
1999
ERTICO organises first ITS European Congress.
2001
ERTICO launches the eCall deployment activities.
2002
ERTICO coordinates ADASIS Forum.
2003
ERTICO coordinates eSafety Forum.
2004
Establishment of Network of National ITS Associations coordinated by ERTICO.
2006
ERTICO launches CVIS integrated project for C-ITS.
2007
TISA launched under ERTICO umbrella.
2008
ERTICO starts first Field Operational Tests for ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems).
2011
ERTICO coordinates the first HeERO project dedicated to the pre-deployment of eCall.
2012
ITS World Congress breaks attendance record: 20000+ attendees.
2013
Establishment of TN-ITS.
2014
ERTICO forms the MaaS Alliance.
2014
Establishment of TM 2.0 ERTICO Innovation Platform.
2015
After a decade of work and advocacy, the European Parliament votes in favour of eCall becoming mandatory.
2015
Establishment of SENSORIS.
2016
Establishment of European Truck Platooning Challenge (ETPC).
2017
ERTICO and European Commission host the first European conference on Connected and Automated Driving.
2017
