The ERTICO – ITS Europe Partnership calendar includes two important entries for next month. On December 3 and 4, ERTICO will host a Focus On partnership event and Cross-Sector meetings, respectively. These events provide an opportunity for our Partners and some invited experts from the transport and mobility community to explore important themes in depth and from multiple perspectives.
Upcoming Focus On Event: 3 December 2025
The Focus On series is built around a single topic or theme, chosen for its strategic relevance, allowing participants to examine its challenges and opportunities in greater detail. The last event took place online in April on the topic of AI and Data for Safe, Resilient and Smart Mobility. The latest event, on Wednesday, December 3, will be in person in Brussels and will explore Innovation for Cities and their Regions.
It is now generally accepted that urban and inter-urban mobility must not be viewed as separate systems; rather, seamless integration between them is crucial for resilient, interconnected mobility networks. The Focus On will address this important point by way of presentations, discussions, and educational sessions, encouraging knowledge sharing within the ERTICO partnership.
The agenda for the day includes updates from the ERTICO’s City Moonshot initiative moving to wider contexts at the National level; a panel discussion on achieving seamless integration between urban areas and the TEN-T networks; an interactive opportunity to engage with ERTICO’s innovation platforms, TM2.0, EAVP and DFRS; a training session around developing and implementing use cases for logistics hubs, connected vehicle services and dynamic V2G charging; and, to end the session, innovations linking urban and inter-urban areas will be pitched from ongoing projects.
Cross-sector meetings: 4 December 2025
On Thursday, December 4, ERTICO will host three parallel cross-sector meetings, each connecting distinct groups of the eight sectors of our Partnership. The sessions, which will be in a hybrid format (Brussels and online), will address common challenges, exchange best practices, and define joint priorities among the different sectors.
The workshop sessions will bring together:
- The Public Authorities and the Traffic and Transport stakeholders to address how to deploy and scale intelligent transport infrastructure, and to explore the conditions needed for wider deployment of Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility (CCAM);
- The Research Sector, Vehicle Manufacturers, and Suppliers to discuss the industrial and research frameworks shaping Europe’s mobility innovation, including the proposed European Automotive Alliance and the transition from Horizon Europe to future programmes; and
- The Connectivity Industry, Service Providers, and Users to explore the convergence of cybersecurity, AI, and next-generation connectivity.
ERTICO’s Partnership share the conviction that building cross-sector trust, dialogue, and joint innovation is essential for the successful transition to safe, sustainable, efficient, resilient and human-centric mobility and transport. Workshop sessions will identify concrete partnerships and initiatives that can translate strategic ambition into real-world deployment.
“The Focus On and the Cross-Sector Meetings, though addressing different themes in different formats, will both offer a trusted space to explore emerging trends, build partnerships, and shape collective priorities”, says ERTICO’s Head of Partnership and Advocacy, Agne Vaitekenaite.
