ERTICO is pleased to announce that EPA has joined its Partnership.
The European Parking Association (EPA), originally founded in 1983, is the umbrella organisation for Europe’s national parking associations and the wider parking and urban mobility sector. EPA member associations represent the parking sector as a whole, which consists of public bodies and private companies that are operating and managing on- and off-street parking structures and services. EPA Corporate Members represent the major operators and supply industry that offer all related products and services concerned with parking. EPA plays a leading role in the reinvention of parking as a mobility service and parking as a mobility platform, aiming to facilitate cooperation between the parking organisations of different European countries, contributing to relevant research projects, providing networking opportunities and the exchange and mutual support of professional experience amongst its members.
EPA already works closely with ERTICO through the Enhancing Automated Valet Parking platform (EAVP), expert contributions to each other’s flagship events and partnering within EU-funded projects of mutual interest. Taking the next logical step of becoming a formal ERTICO Partner will enable further joint thought leadership and research initiatives for both organizations.
Tom Antonissen, EPA Executive Director commented:
Having worked with several existing ERTICO Partners in the past, even serving as a member of the ERTICO Strategy Committee, I am personally very pleased that we are now bringing EPA within the Partnership as well and look forward to making the case for smart parking management being crucial for sustainable urban mobility.
The ERTICO Partnership bridges the gaps between stakeholders across the ITS community to help make mobility safer, more efficient and sustainable. Together, we lead the digital transformation of transport through the development of cutting-edge technologies, new services and innovative mobility solutions to move people and goods in smarter ways. Our Partners share the joint mission to actively promote sustainable collaborative relations with EU institutions and policymakers by connecting local and regional transport organisations with national authorities.
Joost Vantomme, CEO of ERTICO-ITS Europe summarised:
We are happy to welcome the European Parking Association to the ERTICO Partnership. Parking is a critical enabler of smart and sustainable urban mobility, connecting infrastructure, services and users. By bringing EPA into our ecosystem, we strengthen our collective ability to integrate parking into the wider mobility landscape and accelerate the development of seamless, multimodal solutions across Europe.
Joining the ERTICO Partnership is an important way to connect the dots between different sectors across our complex ecosystem. The Partnership enables close collaboration between stakeholders by coordinating the planning and deployment of intelligent transport systems and smart mobility solutions in Europe and beyond.
