FOT-Net was set up in 2008 as the networking platform for stakeholders involved or interested in Field Operational Tests (FOT) and Naturalistic Driving Studies (NDS). A FOT consists of a comprehensive programme of research activities carried out to assess the impact of ICT systems on driver behaviour, both in terms of individual and socio-economic benefits.
During the lifetime of the different FOTs, a crucial need was identified for knowledge exchange in order to let individual FOTs benefit from each other’s learning experiences. In 2011, the FOT-Net 2 support action continued these activities.
