Haibo Chen holds a PhD in Mechatronics from the University of Dundee (UK) and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Central South University (China). He got 20+ years research experience in Intelligent Transport Systems and their applications in traffic forecasting, vehicle emissions and intelligent mobility management. He has produced 150+ articles in peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings or book chapters. Haibo has led 30+ projects funded by various bodies. In the last three years, he has managed more than €2.5m as Grant Holder at Leeds on five EU projects (i.e. optiTruck, AUTOPILOT, ELVITEN, PAsCAL and MODALES). He is the research group leader for Spatial Modelling and Dynamics, and the theme leader for Connected and Shared Mobility at Leeds. Haibo got 30+ years teaching experience with both academic students and industrial partners.
